I turned thirty this week, so I thought it would be appropriate to make my first ‘Royale Friday Night Mix’ podcast a bit of a (semi-chronological) insight into some of the songs and/or artists that have helped define my listening habits over the last 15 years or so, since I first started ‘getting into’ music as a teenager at high school. Not an exhaustive list by any means, since there’s no way I could fit EVERY artist that has meant something to me into two hours, this is nonetheless a good ‘taste’ of the sort of music that’s been the background to my life from the age of fifteen till now.

I’ve deliberately set the bit-rate for the MP3’s at 96 kbs - not only to make for smaller downloads & quicker streaming, but also to underscore the fact you’ll get better quality versions of the songs by buying the actual albums, as I have over the last 15 years. Sure - the idea is to make the podcast listen-able, even dance-able, but I don’t support music piracy, and strongly urge you to do us all a favour and BUY the songs/albums you like from your nearest music retailer.
