- IANA Brand ID / Logo - Images
- The Brief
- The Execution
The Internet Advertising Networks of Australia is an industry body formed in 2008 to represent the interests of independent online advertising networks in the Australian marketplace. I was approached to design the logo and brand ID for the group, as well as the website.
The brief in regards to the logo was to create something pleasing to the eye, which would convey a 'high tech' image, whilst simultaneously appearing 'professional' and 'dependable'.
I decided to create the letters of the IANA acronym as if they were part of a larger bespoke font from scratch in Illustrator. Therefore my initial approach concentrated on producing a number of variations based on almost-abstract, organic shapes, which nonetheless had echoes of other 'high tech' fonts / logos already in circulation such as the 1990's Macromedia branding typeface.
The initial previews were then sent to the group executives for feedback, and through numerous cycles of revision, feedback, and further revision (as illustrated in the progress graphics available in the images tab) which saw the initial concept get closer and closer to becoming a 'traditional' typeface, the final logo was arrived at.
Once a final consensus has been reached by all parties, the logo assets were saved in multiple formats (Illustrator, EPS, Photoshop) for future marketing & other use.
